Hi and welcome to my blog!
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a 30-something year-old feminist Tarok woman. ‘Tarok’ is my ethnic group; we are from Plateau state in Nigeria. Traditionally known as warriors, we are a farming population; a minority in Nigeria but juggernauts in Plateau. My Tarok identity is super important to me, and it is a significant part of my identity. It wasn’t always this way, and I might write a bit about how that changed for me. I am a daughter, a big sister, a friend and an extremely proud aunt of the most adorable little girl in the entire world!! What else? I love love food!
‘Oga nnap nla mi’ is Tarok for ‘my words’ and that what this blog is. It’s my thoughts on different issues and how I navigate through the world through the lenses of the different aspects of my identity: feminist, female, Tarok, left-wing liberal from a super conservative and traditional family.
